Virginia State Fall Championships

Fall Championships is one of Special Olympics Virginia's state level competitions, held at the end of the fall season in Virginia Beach. Approximately 1,000 Special Olympics athletes from across Virginia are selected to go for the gold in bowling, bocce, golf, volleyball, roller skating, and soccer competitions. Fall Championships also features a Saturday evening Opening Ceremony, where we light the Flame of Hope to "open" the Championships, followed by a Victory Dance - a favorite of both our athletes and volunteers!

We Run the City is an annual 5K rivalry run that supports Special Olympics Southern California athletes. Official timing will be carried out for this race. Alumni, faculty, fans, staff, and students of USC and UCLA will compete for bragging rights and the We Run the City trophy. Poly Hockey and Unified Bowling Finals

The 2014 Special Olympics Michigan State Poly Hockey and Unified Bowling Finals presented by Water Warriors will occur on November 22-23 in East Lansing, Michigan. The Poly Hockey event will be held at Eastern High School and the Fieldhouse in Lansing, Michigan. Poly Hockey is an adaptive sport similar to floor hockey where athletes use plastic hockey sticks and pucks and play on a flat surface. The poly hockey competition will consist of both team play and an individual skills contests. The Unified Bowling competition will take place at Royal Scot Lanes in Lansing, Michigan. Farmington Penguin Plunge

Join us January 25, 2015 at Winding Trails in Farmington, Connecticut for the Penguin Plunge to benefit Special Olympics Connecticut. Registration begins at 8 AM and the plunge will take place at 10 AM. Participants raise funds to run (Plunge) into the chilly waters of Connecticut. Your participation provides funding to support over 14,000 athletes who participate in Special Olympics Connecticut’s year-round training and competition in 27 sports. Costumes are encouraged – we even give an award for the best costumes! Many Penguins form teams to band together and share in this one-of-a-kind experience.

2015 Provincial Winter Games Speed Skating Competition

Special Olympics Ontario is hosting our 2015 Provincial Winter Games from January 29 – Feb 1st, 2015 in North Bay, Ontario. We have a few spaces available in our Speed Skating Competition and would like to extend an invitation to your speed skating athletes to attend. Cost $50 per athlete which includes 3 nights of accommodation, all meals, opening and closing ceremonies, athlete’s victory dance and ground transportation once you arrive at the games. Teams are responsible for their own travel to and from the event. As this is a qualifying competition for National Games for us, we require all athletes to use regulation speed skates.
